Hey There! My name is Jessica, and I am a Board Certified Music Therapist. I adore music and it's potential to impact others. I am in private practice, and after many wonderful opportunities to work with various populations and clinical settings, I decided to focus on work with children. As a Music Therapist, it is my mission to bring about improvements in areas of need (including areas of psychological, physical, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or social functioning) through the use of Music Therapy interventions.
In addition to my private practice, I have an part time position through Charleston Southern University, as an onsite clinical supervisor to CSU Music Therapy Students (as they train in the field for their Music Therapy degree). I am a member of/affiliated with AMTA, CBMT, MTASC, and SER-AMTA (see left side margin for details and links to these associations). I've enjoyed working at various summer camps over the years, providing music therapy to children of various ages, diagnoses, needs, and abilities. I also helped to start the Won by One program at my church (a program/ministry for children with special needs). I volunteered as a leader in the program for several years, often with my son accompanying me as a peer for kids in Won by One. On a personal note, I've known what I wanted "to be when I grow up" since I was in middle school. I have been immersed in learning, loving, and doing music therapy ever since, and still can't get enough! Music and it's power never ceases to amaze me. I am so honored and humbled to be apart of it all! Here is a little bit of me and things that I love ... |
